 COMPTON, CA — Bennie Tinson, candidate for Compton City Council, District 2, has been endorsed by the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters. The endorsement was announced with a campaign contribution, highlighting Tinson’s commitment to environmental justice and community advocacy.

Expressing his gratitude, Tinson said, “Thank you to the entire LALCV board for your support. It’s an honor to be endorsed by an organization that has long been a leader in environmental advocacy in Los Angeles County.”

He continued, “I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the LALCV. In Compton, environmental justice isn’t just a policy goal—it’s a necessity for our community’s health and wellbeing. I look forward to working alongside LALCV to champion sustainable infrastructure, expand our green spaces, and ensure clean air and water for all Compton residents.”

“My goal has always been to improve lives through dedication and honesty,” said Tinson. “With my experience in education, the union movement, and municipal governance, I am prepared to hit the ground running on day one. I am committed to making Compton safer, revitalized, and better governed.”

Tinson’s platform includes the following


  • Public Safety & Infrastructure: Prioritizing the installation of speed bumps to protect children, fixing local streets, trimming trees, and modernizing drainage systems to prevent neighborhood flooding.
  • Revitalization: Transforming Long Beach Boulevard by eradicating sex trafficking and attracting new dining, shopping, and attainable mixed-use housing developments.
  • Neighborhood Quality: Reclaiming residential streets by removing commercial trucks and RVs, stopping industrial pollution, and implementing a 24-hour graffiti elimination policy.
