    Carl M. Dameron, President, Creative Director

    Carl M. Dameron is an advertising and public relations expert with more than 30 years of success serving California companies, governments and non-profits.

    He has won: awards, support for projects, customers, and media coverage with the most prestigious and popular media outlets, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

    Public/Government/Community Development/Community Relations Proficiencies

    • Development, implementation and management of strategic plans and programs to achieve the clients’ goals.
    • Oversee the community organizing campaign including development, training and implementation of clients’ programs.

    Creative and tenacious Dameron uses relevant research, gets on the ground and communicates with customers, community members and front line staff to find customer “hot buttons”.  The creative team digests this information to create effective messaging for multi-media campaigns that work.  Dameron effectively implements current technology and finds ways to effectively adopt new technology into campaigns.

    Additionally, Carl has held executive-level positions with PR firm BSMG Worldwide’s Weber Shandwick and two Fortune 500 companies.

    Dr. George Gary Manross, Ph.D, Director of Research

    Dr. Manross

    A behavioral scientist with more than 25 years experience in marketing and applied research, George joined Dameron Communications in 1998. He is also chairman and CEO of the Strategy Research Institute in Fullerton, California. Additionally, he has held executive-level positions with two Fortune 500 companies as well as the California Association of Realtors and PR firm Hill & Knowlton.

    George began his career as a business editor for a large metropolitan daily newspaper. He has taught at UCLA and USC in communications, advertising and public relations.

    His Ph.D. is in Communications Research from the Annenberg School for Communications at USC.

    Cheryl R. Brown,  Government Relations

    Cheryl is a former Assemblywoman, publisher, small business owner and current California State Commissioner on Aging who has devoted the majority of her life on public service.

    She has been recognized by countless local, state and national organizations for her work on behalf of the community in various capacities as an elected official and community volunteer.

    Prior to being elected to the Assembly, she was a publisher of the Black Voice News in Riverside, CA.

    Shanna Bowen – Social Media Manager

    A social media expert with more than 10 years’ experience creating and implementing many successful social media campaigns

    Shanna develops social media content plans that are consistent with the company’s brand identity.

    Creating consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.

    She manages a high volume of daily social media posts.  Communicates with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner.

    She develops and managing social influencer programs and attending social influencer events.

    Shanna uses analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance.  She prepares weekly and monthly reports on social media marketing efforts.

    Shanna constantly adjusts the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.  She also stays up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.

    John Bender – Director of Public Relations

    The former politics and topics editor for The Press-Enterprise in Riverside. In that role, he supervises coverage of elections and local, state and federal lawmakers and edits topical stories that frequently appear on the paper’s front page and on its main Web page. Bender was a member of the paper’s team of reporters and editors that won the 2015 Sigma Delta Chi Award for Deadline reporting for coverage of the San Bernardino terrorist attack.

    John is an experienced Editor with a demonstrated history of working in the newspaper industry. Skilled in AP Stylebook,News Writing, Editing, and Journalism. Strong media and communication professional with a Bachelor of Science focused in Communication Arts from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly Pomona.

    Valda Wilson – Public & Government  Relations

    An experienced public information specialist and professional photographer with excellent skills in communications, journalism, photography, leadership and team building created during 23-year Air Force career.

    Traveled extensively to 5 continents, 24 countries, and many locations in the U. S.  A seasoned communications leader well-versed in media. Skilled in pitching stories and engaging media to promote specific talking points. Worked with Hollywood’s elite on several Air Force centric productions, built communication plans and oversaw strategies and tactics to achieve specified outcomes.

    Proven leadership/public information skills resulted in successfully creating/motivating teams to exceed goals as well as individual performances. Delivered creativity and innovation that influence counsel to leaders, effective communication with peers, and consistent record of producing quality results-driven products.

    Damon Britain, Videographer

    A video and fill production veteran with more than 20 years of video production and editing experience, producing a variety of quality award winning videos for local, national, and international clients.  Trained in Hollywood film and video production.  “From feature films to documentaries and video production, I have produced all types of professional projects in my many years in the industry.”

    Damon experience includes Director of Photography, Video Production & Editor, Audio Tech, Gaffer, Writer, Director and Producer of commercials, music videos, movies, and Corporate projects.

    Janeen Britain, Video Production Assistant

    Janeen Britain brings eight years of experience as a video production assistant to Dameron Communications, makes certain Dameron Communications handles every detail properly and timely for their clients.

    She is responsible for coordinating the production needs of clients, casting for auditions, as well as hiring and scheduling production crews.

    “I really enjoy what I am doing,” said Janeen. “I like the energy of interacting with so many different people and projects during our location shoots.  I particularly enjoy working with the non-profit organizations. They are so passionate about what they do, it really motivates me to do positive things for the community too.”

    An extra benefit for Janeen has been the opportunity to work with award winning director and her husband, Mark Damon Britain. While they have focused their talents on the production of corporate commercials, the duo has also worked on several independent films.

    Thom Salisbury, Art Director

    Thom has been designing and directing effective, enduring, and meaningful products in Southern California since the “dawn of time.” Prior to that, he was hanging on, and painting billboards in Las Vegas.

    Early in his career, he worked with the outstanding Sales and Marketing team at the Long Beach Press-Telegram. From there he was recruited to lead the advertising design team at The (San Bernardino) Sun. Later he moved on to completely redesign Pacific Coast Sportfishing magazine where he continued for many years without ever being able to conquer severe sea-sickness.

    In 2007, he joined forces with Dameron Communications, and, to this day, he continues to provide design and art direction with a straight-forward, clean, and practical approach that emphasizes visual impact and meaningful messaging that effectively tells the story and motivates the
    desired reaction from the audience.

    The last several years, in addition, he has been designing the quarterly magazine for the 356 Club vintage Porsche club for many years.

    Elijah E. Ford, Graphic Artist 

    Elijah has over 15 year in the visual information industry. He is experienced with the Adobe suite of programs and traditional paint, brush and canvas. In addition, he has taught art classes and understands what it means to use the imagination to make a statement.

    He is creative and produces websites, logos and advertisements. Other skills include video editing, screen printing, and graphic design.

    Ford’s multi-disciplined career has prepared him to deliver and understand the wants and needs of the customer.


    Christopher Sloan – Public & Government  Relations

    15+ years journalist photographic experience in with hundreds of photos published in Sothern California publications. A communications professional with advanced social media skills.

    Chris uses his professional expertise and skill to capture professional, high-quality images; assignments may include candid images, portraits, architectural structures, abstract compositions, etc. Selects and uses appropriate photographic and/or video equipment to record events and subjects.

    Chris is responsible for visually illustrating client’s presence, products and services by meeting the still and video photographic needs of our clients and assisting in the production of multi-image, multi-media, and video presentations for promotional and informational use.

    Chris also works in social media.  He responsible for creating social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the company’s social media properties. His passion for social media as a communications tools result in the adoption and implementation of social media best practices across all social media channels.


    Willie Dee Ellison II, Sports – Public Marketing

    Willie Dee Ellison II has more than 30 years of media and public relations experience. Ellison covers major sports and entertainment in the Southern California Region and has since the 1980’s.  This includes interviews, articles, photography and public relations with the Lakers, Rams, Raiders, Dodgers and Angels. He has covered the NFC Championship for the NFL, and The Western Conference Finals for the NBA.

    Ellison works with NCAA programs including USC and UCLA. He has covered NCAA tournaments and events, including Rose Bowl Games.

    The Southern California native has garnered many awards and achievements since his days at California State University, San Bernardino.

    Ellison is married with three adult children and seven grandchildren.
