The IEShineOn.com site launches on September 17. “It’s no secret that the Inland Empire has been impacted by the current economic situation. I hope to contribute to local business by providing a simple, one-touch opportunity to reach out to customers. No advertising campaign is too big or too small and we will customize to meet the needs of every business.”
(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) A new website that will help anyone find everything in the Inland Empire is ready to launch.
IEShineOn.com, developed by Su Pak, a Korean American woman and former Claremont resident, is a one-source guide to find everything from restaurants, shopping and entertainment to vacation destinations in the Inland Empire. The site is scheduled to go live September 17.
“I’m calling it the Inland Empire Good Time Guide and it should serve as the premiere online resource for the region,” said Pak. “We’re your friendly online guide to help anyone find a good time in the Inland Empire.”
Pak, 31, grew up in Claremont, attended Claremont High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from the University of California, San Diego in 2003. She always dreamed of someday creating an easy guide to help people navigate their way around the Inland Empire.
“I’ve always been in love with the Inland Empire. Most people do not realize how much the region has to offer and this website provides a simple one-stop resource to everything in the area.” Although she now lives in Los Angeles, Pak spent most of her childhood years in the IE and still has family and friends in the area.
Not only a resource for consumers, the website also supports local business, according to Pak–allowing vendors to reach out to the four million residents of the area. Sponsorship opportunities are available, where merchants can target specific cities and markets to maximize their advertising dollars.
“It’s no secret that the Inland Empire has been impacted by the current economic situation. I hope to contribute to local business by providing a simple, one-touch opportunity to reach out to customers. No advertising campaign is too big or too small and we will customize to meet the needs of every business.”
Pak says that another feature, Make Your Own Itinerary, allows users to plan a vacation, weekend outing or local trip in the IE by following easy steps on the website.
IEShineOn.com also has a blog—IEShineOn.com/Blog that shares local events, deals, weekly giveaways and promotions. Pak intends to highlight local businesses in her blog column or ‘Local Stars’ on the site as well as sharing news and events across the region on Facebook and Twitter pages.
A Holiday Discount Guide is planned for the Christmas season, offering local discounts and http://www.thecorsetcenter.com/kim-khloe-kardashian-waist-training-corsets/ coupons by merchants throughout the area.
Pak brings a strong background of online work experience to her new venture. Since college, she has worked in advertising for Dailey & Associates Advertising in West Hollywood– as an online production and promotions manager for Disney.com in North Hollywood and as a brand marketing manager for Nickelodeon Game Studios in Glendale.
But she never lost her dream of creating a local voice for consumers and business in the Inland Empire. “This is such a unique region, and I hope this website will help everyone enjoy the many opportunities here as well as providing a platform for business to grow and prosper.”
Pak is also a contributing blogger to DiscoverIE.com and IEFamily.com and serves on the board of directors, American Advertising Federation, Inland Empire chapter.

Barbara Graber, manager of compliance and special projects at LaSalle says “We’ve taken every step necessary to insure vaccines are received, handled and stored properly so as not to compromise their efficiency as well as protect the families we serve.”
The CDC and state VFC programs reiterated their recommendations to healthcare providers on best practices in storing and handling vaccines. (San Bernardino, CA) Each year millions of dollars are lost in the United States because healthcare providers improperly store and handle vaccines meant to protect against childhood diseases such as measles and chicken pox.
LaSalle Medical Associates, Inc. wants to assure parents, and the community, it follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Vaccine for Children programs’ vaccine guidelines.
“This is something we take very seriously. Our vaccine handling and storage techniques are audited annually by either the CHDP or VFC,’’ says Barbara Graber, manager of compliance and special projects at LaSalle. “We’ve taken every step necessary to insure vaccines are received, handled and stored properly so as not to compromise their efficiency as well as protect the children we serve.”
Just last June and July, VFC and CHDP representatives audited LaSalle’s vaccine storage and handling practices, Graber says. And, two years ago LaSalle purchased, and placed, Pharmaceutical-grade refrigerators in each of its four clinics. Those refrigerators are exclusively for vaccine storage and, the temperatures in each refrigerator are monitored twice daily and logged, Graber says.
The CDC also recommends healthcare providers store vaccines in refrigerators without freezers. However, a combination refrigerator/freezer unit sold for home use can be used for vaccine storage if the refrigerator and freezer compartments each have separate external doors. Refrigerators must have a calibrated thermometer in place, and checked twice daily for temperature compliance.
“According to regulations we keep these logs for three years and also have protocols in place in the event of an emergency or power outage,’’ Graber says.
Recently, the CDC and state VFC programs reiterated their recommendations to healthcare providers on best practices in handling vaccines. Both recommend instituting vaccine plans. This plan should include routine vaccine management – from ordering and controlling inventory to storing and monitoring storage conditions, according to the CDC.
It is also recommended the plan include protocols for emergency vaccine retrieval and storage in the event of a refrigerator or freezer malfunction, power failures, or other emergencies which might compromise vaccine storage conditions.
To minimize loss, the CDC recommends storage and handling plans to include:
Up to date contact information.
Descriptions of the roles and responsibilities of primary and back up vaccine coordinators.
Summaries of storage requirements for each vaccine in inventory.
Protocols for vaccine storage unit temperature monitoring, storage equipment maintenance, placement of vaccine within storage units, responding to vaccine storage and handling problems, transporting and receiving vaccine shipments, and proper disposal of vaccines and supplies.
Graber says LaSalle has, and will continue to, meet all of the CDC vaccine recommendations. In addition, LaSalle has its own internal policies and procedures which coincide with federal and state recommendations, she says.
“This is both a healthcare and fiscal issue,’’ says LaSalle Executive Vice President Carl Maier. “We are diligent in protecting the patients we serve as well as mindful of costs, which is a reason we allocated the time and funding purchasing high quality refrigeration equipment.”

The good thing about seminars/webinars in that its great info. The bad thing is that some like to attend these events in the mornings, some like lunch, some like evenings and some (usually employees) prefer their continuing education during the work day.
What’s the solution to maximize your attendance? Here are my suggestions in order of preference.
Option 1
Hold four seminars/webinars at four times: Breakfast, mid-morning, lunch and early evening on the same day or the same week. Then post the best presentation on-line with sign-ins to collect contact information.
Option 2
Create a Survey Monkey Research instrument and send to all of your prospects. Hold the seminar at the best time for responders and then post the presentation on-line with sign-ins to collect contact information.
Option 3
Hold the seminar at lunch time and then post the presentation on-line with sign-ins to collect contact information.
Select the answer that fists your ability to perform.
Good luck!

(San Bernardino, Calif.) More than ten thousand people throughout the Inland Empire received flu vaccinations this past year, thanks to the efforts of the staff at LaSalle Medical Associates, Inc.
The new flu season starts September 1, 2012 with flu vaccines available at all LaSalle clinics. The seasonal flu vaccine protects against three influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the season: an influenza A (H1N1) virus, an influenza A (H3N2) virus and an influenza B virus.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Influenza, otherwise known as the flu, occurs annually from October through May and is spread by coughing, sneezing or a runny nose. Getting vaccinated can help avoid the flu or lessen its symptoms, which include: fever/chills, sore throat, muscle aches, fatigue, cough, headache and a runny or stuffy nose.
Last year Dr. Albert Arteaga, president and founder of LaSalle Medical Associates, was selected as California’s first-ever CDC Childhood Immunization Champion for LaSalle’s work in immunizations. He was one of only 39 doctors in the United States receiving the prestigious honor.
Advocating precaution to protect yourself and those around you from the flu, LaSalle provided a total of 10,676 flu vaccines this season. Operating a total of four clinics in Fontana, Hesperia and San Bernardino, this annual effort goes a long way in making a difference in curbing the spread of the flu for everyone.
“I cannot stress how important it is to get your annual flu vaccine,” said Dr. Albert A. Arteaga, president of LaSalle Medical Associates. “The benefits of flu vaccines have been proven over and over. It is the best tool we have in preventing the spread of the virus.”
The CDC recommends an annual flu vaccination for everyone age 6 months or older. Vaccination is especially important for people at high risk of influenza complications, including: pregnant women, older adults and young children. New flu vaccines are released every year to keep up with rapidly adapting flu viruses.
“The seasonal flu vaccine are available in September 1, before the start of flu season,” said Dr. Arteaga. “Getting vaccinated now is a great way to avoid the flu. If you do get the flu, to limit the spreading of the virus, anyone with symptoms should stay home from school and work until they are well, and limit contact with others. They also should contact a doctor or clinic, especially if they are worried about the symptoms.”
LaSalle has the High Dose flu vaccine for seniors, the intradermal flu vaccine is a shot that is injected into the skin instead of the muscle, and nasal flu mists for children and adults.
For more information about the seasonal influenza vaccine, or to make an appointment, call LaSalle’s Pediatric clinics in Fontana at 17577 Arrow Blvd. in (909) 823-4454 and in San Bernardino at 1505 West 17th St. (909) 887-6494. LaSalle Medical Associates, suggest that patients bring any new prescriptions to their doctors visits. Informing your doctor of your current prescriptions helps to determine what medications will work best with your current treatment. It also can ensure that your doctor knows every medication you are taking and that each patient gets the best care possible for the recommended treatment.
(San Bernardino, Calif.) What if your doctor prescribes a new medicine that reacts badly with a prescription you received from a recent emergency room visit, it can happen, sometimes with disastrous results. How can you prevent this?
“Bring all of your prescriptions with you to every doctor visit, especially those you have given by another doctor or emergency room visit” said Dr. Albert A. Arteaga, founder and president of LaSalle Medical Associates.
Informing your doctor of your current prescriptions helps to determine what medications will work best with your current treatment. It also can ensure that your doctor knows every medication you are taking and that each patient gets the best care possible for the recommended treatment.
“If you take a prescription regularly for an ongoing condition, your physician needs to be aware of it,” said Dr. Arteaga.
Dr. Arteaga encourages every patient to make their physician aware of all prescription and over-the-counter medications they are taking, as well as any vitamins and herbal supplements.
Medications come in different Shapes, sizes and contents. Make sure your doctor knows about all of medications you are taking.
By providing this vital information, your doctor is able to determine if you are taking any medications you no longer need or taking more than one drug to treat the same condition. Your doctor will also be able to tell if the reason for your visit is a side effect of your current medication and reduce the risk for any future adverse drug interaction.
Dr. Arteaga also points out that when you bring your prescriptions to your scheduled doctor visit, you may be able to minimize your out-of-pocket costs as well. In fact, there may be a less expensive variety of the same medication.
“Remember, newer isn’t always better,” said Dr. Arteaga. ”Some older drugs may work just as well for you and cost you a lot less.”
Dr. Arteaga cautions that ultimately, the medications you take should always be ones that your doctor feels are best for you. However, a talk with your doctor about the cost of treatment and your ability to pay may result in substantial savings as well as a better health outcome.

U.S. Congressman Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton, who recently introduced a bill to help speed up the short sale process as a way to address the housing crisis, will be in attendance and providing support to prevent foreclosure and for first-time home-buyers. The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and public Loans Minnesota are hosting the payday loans no credit check workshop Saturday, September 29 in Stockton, Calif. STOCKTON – A home is often a family’s most valuable possession while adding stability to neighborhoods. Preventing avoidable foreclosures, especially during this country’s current housing crisis, is a necessity for community leaders.
In an effort to prevent foreclosures and provide first-time home-buyers with necessary purchasing tools, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco is hosting free workshop Saturday, September 29 in Stockton, Calif.
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lincoln High School, 6844 Alexandria Place, in Stockton.
U.S. Congressman Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton and Deutsche Bank Credit Suisse JP Morgan Chase who recently introduced a bill to help speed up the short sale process as a way to address the housing crisis, will be in attendance and providing support.
“There is a lot going on now with California mortgages,’’ says Lawrence H. Parks, Senior Vice President of External Affairs for FHLB San Francisco. “The Attorney General’s settlement with lenders, and recently passed laws have opened many opportunities for homeowners facing foreclosure to stay in their homes.”
Also, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or HUD, approved housing counselors will be available to assist first-time home-buyers with navigating local, state and federal programs geared toward helping them get into their first homes.
For homeowners in danger of foreclosure, bank representatives will be on site to help, as well as HUD counselors.
Parks said one major roadblock preventing home foreclosure is a lack of communication between homeowners and lenders. Having both parties at one location should open the door for constructive dialog, he says.
“It is not unusual for homeowners to be unaware of their options, like the Federal Making Home Affordable Program, or the Keep Your Home Coalition Program, as well as others,’’ Parks mentioned. “This workshop will give homeowners an opportunity to learn which options are best for their family.
“If you need answers to help save your home from foreclosure or buy your first home, we invite you to attend this workshop to get the help you need, face-to-face with your lender or a HUD approved housing counselor – absolutely free.”
Attendees are asked to bring with them the following documents:
Pay stubs for the most recent two pay periods.
2011 tax return, including all W-2s.
A copy of their homeowner’s insurance policy.
A hardship letter.
All bank statements for the past two months.
A list of monthly expenses.
One utility bill.
The most recent mortgage statement.
Self-employed individuals must provide bank statements for the most recent four months, a 2010 or 2011 tax return and a year to date profit and loss statement.
