    (San Bernardino, CA)  Lacey Kendall, a radio consultant and broadcast advisor at Cal State San Bernardino has been named president of the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
     
    Kendall served as vice president of the AAF last year where she played a key role in the annual ADDY awards, a gala that recognizes excellence in advertising throughout the Inland Empire.  She also helped organize monthly educational programs and fundraising events for the local chapter.
     
    “I’m so excited to serve as president of the AAF for this coming year.  This chapter has a long history of service to the advertising community in the Inland Empire and I am looking forward to continuing that tradition.”
     
    Her goals for the coming year are, “To increase membership, host an incredible ADDY award competition and strengthen relationships with local colleges and universities who offer advertising as an academic major,” says Kendall.
     
    “We also believe that advertising students should be better connected to the professional organization that represents their industry.  This year we’re going to work to improve those relationships with this AAF chapter and increase the academic scholarships we already offer to deserving advertising students.”
     
     
     
    Kendall, 52, of North Rialto became interested in radio broadcasting at San Bernardino Valley College in 1979 where she hosted ‘Bluegrass Alive!’  Since then she has worked as a producer, manager and on-air host for radio stations in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties.
     
    Hired to cast voices for worldwide radio and TV commercials at Voice Over LA Studios in Hollywood, she worked on the George H.W. Bush presidential campaign and with clients such as Nike, Touchstone Pictures, Men’s Health Magazine and McDonalds.
     
    In 1994 she started 909Creative, an Inland Empire commercial production company.  She has also taught radio broadcasting at San Bernardino Valley College and at the University of LaVerne.  And in 2003 she worked with American radio news legend Daren Lane to build KCAA/NBC News Radio where she served as operations manager.
     
    In 2007 Kendall was hired as the broadcast consultant at Cal State San Bernardino, where today she advises over 140 students who are studying broadcasting, marketing, advertising and station management.  Her duties include managing Coyote Radio, the Cal State radio station, and she produces My Awesome Empire, a radio show about the Inland Empire and the Isla Earth Radio Series, broadcast over 300 stations in the U.S. and heard by over seven million weekly listeners.  Additionally she continues to host a Saturday show on 96.7 KCAL Rocks where she first worked 33 years ago.
     
    Kendall was born in Lakewood, Ca. and grew up in Rialto.  She earned a B.A. in radio broadcasting from the University of La Verne and a M.A in Communications from Cal State San Bernardino.

    (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) A luncheon speaker will discuss how to master the new Google Shopping for ecommerce on June 13 at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Rancho Cucamonga.  It is open to the public and registration begins at 11:30AM.

     
    The presentation by Andrew David,  “How To Make Google Shopping Work,” is directed at marketing managers, agencies, business owners, paid search managers and ecommerce managers who control ecommerce websites.  It is sponsored by the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
     
    Davis is the author of Merchant Comparison Shopping Handbook, the first handbook on comparison shopping engines for online retailers.  He is also a columnist for Search Engine Watch.
     
    At CPC Strategy in San Diego, Davis is a marketing manager who focuses on full service comparison shopping for online retailers.  He was previously an account consultant to enterprise online retailers and marketing agencies.  His presentation will explain questions that should be asked before launching an online ecommerce campaign.

    (San Bernardino, CA)  The Art Bash, a gallery auction sponsored by the Inland Empire ad club to benefit student scholarships, will be held Thursday, May 31 at 6pm in the downtown Arts Colony in Pomona.  It is open to the public.
     
    This year’s theme, “Culture, Community, Inland Empire,” features works of art by students and local artists that will be on display and auctioned at the event which includes food, wine, entertainment and door prizes.  The California Center for the Arts in the Pomona Arts Colony is located at 252-D S. Main Street.
     
    Hosted by the American Advertising Federation-Inland Empire (AAF), the 3d annual auction supports academic scholarships for college students who are pursuing a career in advertising.
     
    Jacob Poore, president of the ad club said the response from local artists has been excellent.  “We have received so many submissions that we are using a larger gallery this year.  The student work is outstanding and everyone needs to come see the level of talent on display and take something home,” he said.  “Also, submitting artists will receive a portion of the proceeds from the auction.”

    Art Bash Scholarship Auction Seeks Work from Local Artists

    (San Bernardino, CA)  The Art Bash, supporting Inland Empire scholarships, seeks art work from students and professionals for the auction at 6pm on May 31 in Pomona.  The deadline to submit art work is May 24.

     
    Sponsored annually by the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the fundraiser will be held at the dA Center for the Arts in the downtown Pomona Arts Colony, 252-D S. Main Street, Pomona.
     
    This year’s theme is ‘Culture, Community, Inland Empire.’  Artists are asked to create works of art in any medium using this central theme as a guide.  Those who submit work will receive a portion of the proceeds from the auction.
     
    Artists should drop off their work at Red Fusion Media, 104 E. State Street, Suite P in Redlands by May 24.  Free canvasses are available at CalState San Bernardino and the Art Institute, Inland Empire.  All art work must include a registration form that can be downloaded from www.artbash.org.

    (Riverside, CA)  Tickets are still available for the ADDY Awards gala on Friday, March 15 at the Mission Inn in Riverside.

    The ADDY’s honor the best in advertising throughout the Inland Empire, both in professional and student work and are hosted annually by the IE Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
    Reservations are required for the gala.  AAF members and students pay $55.  Cost for non-members is $65 and the registration deadline is March 12.  Tickets can be purchased online or by downloading and returning the order form at http://aaf-inlandempire.com//addys/.
    A no-host cocktail hour begins at 6pm where the winning advertising will be on display.  Dinner is at 7 and the program begins at 7:45.

    (Riverside, CA)  The deadline for entries in the 2012 ADDY Award competition is Friday, Feb. 1.  The ADDY’s are sponsored annually by the American Advertising Federation-Inland Empire Chapter and award excellence in advertising. ADDY contestants should register their entries online and then drop them off locally in Redlands or at a special event on Jan. 31 in Fontana.

    In the professional category, submissions must include advertising that appeared from January 1 to December 31, 2012, according to the AAF’s John McCarthy, chair of this year’s competition.  Students are welcome to participate and submissions are encouraged.  There are over 100 categories covering all aspects of advertising, including some new and expanded areas this year.
    To register online, visit http://aaf-inlandempire.com, click on ADDYS, download a copy of the competition rules and follow the instruction links. Then, submissions may be dropped off at Red Fusion Media, 104 E. State Street, Suite P, Redlands, CA 92373.
    Another way to drop off entries is at a special ADDY Drop & Drink event at Logan’s Roadhouse in Fontana at 6pm on Thursday, Jan. 31.  ADDY contestants should bring their entries and enjoy a Cover Brand Advertising Jingle game with live music and over $100 in prizes.
    “What a great way to have fun and drop off your ADDY entries at the same time,” said McCarthy.  AAF members pay $10 and non-members $15.  Registration deadline is Jan. 30 on the website.
    McCarthy reminds contestants to use the code ADDY when registering online to avoid the registration fee for any entries dropped off in person.
    The Inland Empire ADDY Awards is the first in a three-tier process, including local, district and national competition. The annual ADDY Gala Awards Dinner to recognize local winners is Friday, March 15 at the Mission Inn in Riverside.

    IE Ad Club Names Incoming Board

    (San Bernardino, CA)  The Inland Empire Chapter of the American Advertising Federation has announced the Board of Directors for 2012-1013.  The Ad Club hosts the annual ADDY Awards, which recognizes advertising excellence in the Inland Empire.
    On July 1, Jacob Poore, Marketing Coordinator at Cal-State San Bernardino will serve as the incoming President.  Lacey Kendall of Rialto, an Information Technology Consultant at CSUSB is Vice President.  From Wrightwood, Julie Wright, Editor of Sight and Scent Magazine returns as Secretary, and the new Treasurer is Bobbi Albano, from Rialto who is an accountant at Loma Linda University.
    Jon Burgess, Vice President, Red Fusion Media in Redlands will advise the board as immediate past president.  John McCarthy, Senior Director, Digital Strategy at WebMetro in San Dimas and also a past president will continue as chair of events and the ADDY Awards.
    Tom Windeknecht, a project manager at Red Fusion Media returns to the board and joining the team is Su Pak of Claremont, a brand manager for Nickelodeon Games and founder/blogger IEShineOn.com.  John Barry of Newport Beach continues as the public relations chair for the AAF.

    (San Bernardino, CA) The local Ad Club is hosting a student art auction to benefit its scholarship program on Thursday evening, May 11 at Cal State San Bernardino, 6-9pm.The second annual event will be held on campus at the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art.This year’s theme, “When Art and Advertising Collide,” invites students to create a piece of art on blank canvasses that the Ad Club donated to student artists around the Inland Empire.  The art pieces will be auctioned at The Art Bash.
    The event is hosted by the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).  Proceeds will benefit winning students and the Ad Club academic scholarship program.Bidding for art pieces at the silent auction begins at $25.
